The Invisible Woman

Woman’s work = The Foundation of Society

“Women know what men have long forgotten. The ultimate economic and spiritual unit of any civilization is still the family.”
Clare Boothe Luce

An economy’s future, and its quality of life, largely rest on the unpaid labour of women. Yet our huge contribution registers nowhere in GDP.

It is “woman’s work” to birth the next generation, to fashion a haven – a safe, clean, warm and loving environment – in which a family can blossom.

It is “woman’s work” to ensure that children are cared for, loved, and grow-up to be healthy, law-abiding and productive.

It is “woman’s work” to create the meals which produce strong bodies and minds. Without us, productivity would decline and social costs would rise.

Why are we are invisible?

Our contribution may be unmeasured, unrecorded, and unpaid, yet our role is absolutely and undeniably crucial to the functioning of a healthy, successful Society.

Indeed, “woman’s work” is far more essential to our species’ survival, to our happiness, and to our quality of life, than work performed in a mine, a factory, an office, or a store.
