Male Courting Behaviour

Ever watched male courting behaviour?

☿ —

Males dance and crow, strut and fight, handicap themselves with clumsy attachments, expose themselves to view and to danger, all in a desperate bid to get some female to say yes.

Now read a biology text:
Female control over sex is always described as “submission”, while male pleading is described as “dominance”.

The Weaker Vessel

Man pontificates: “God created women as the weaker vessel, inferior to men.”

But history shows that God made women capable of doing anything men can do from soldiering to research, from exploration to poetry, from medicine to the arts … why would God bless a creature intended to be inferior with such superior abilities?

Man replies not that he was wrong, but that, “The ways of God are a mystery.”

The Handmaid’s Tale (Paperback)
Margaret Atwood’s popular dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale explores a broad range of issues relating to power, gender, and religious politics.

Sexual Scavengers

Society calls males who abuse women and children “sexual predators”.

This is an insult to predators – noble, skilful, graceful animals which hunt to survive.

Male abusers are bullies, cowards, sleezeballs … too often they are figures of authority – judges, priests, bosses, fathers – who feast upon the already “downed” in our Society.

So, let’s call them what they really are:
“sexual scavengers”.

The New Labor Laws

Just a Wife and Mother.

For millennia, by our blood, our work, our suffering, women have birthed the world. Our names are forgotten.

We laid down our lives, and our futures, to serve our country, our people. Our contributions are denigrated and dismissed.

We are the unknown and unappreciated soldiers. She was just a wife and mother.

“The Unknown Mother”

For millennia, young men have laid down their lives for the State, fighting in wars.

— ⚤ —

They have died screaming, bleeding, and in agonizing pain, to ensure the survival of their people.

Hence the statues to The Unknown Soldier.

When Every Mother Is a Hero

Women will have equality when every mother is a hero.

— ⚤ —

When every mother is entitled to pay, a pension and veteran’s benefits. When there are statues honouring The Unknown Mother.

— ⚤ —

When the life of those who died giving life is as precious as the life of those who died giving death.

Great Women on Motherhood

At work, you think of the children you have left at home. At home, you think of the work you’ve left unfinished. Such a struggle is unleashed within yourself. Your heart is rent.

MOTHERS AS JEDI: May the 4th Be with You

Women’s rights in essence is really a movement for freedom, a movement for equality, for the dignity of all women, for those who work outside the home and those who dedicate themselves with more altruism than any profession I know to being wives and mothers, cooks and chauffeurs, and child psychologists and loving human beings.
– Jill Ruckelshaus

〰  ⚤ 〰

There is an unspoken pact that women are supposed to follow. I am supposed to act like I constantly feel guilty about being away from my kids. (I don’t. I love my job.) Mothers who stay at home are supposed to pretend they are bored and wish they were doing more corporate things. (They don’t. They love their job.)
Amy Poehler
